Description
The Fleet Readiness Center Procurement Group Patuxent River, MD 20650 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence (HMI), Inc.(Cage Code:1WUK4) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 13.501(a), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
The Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) Cherry Point, NC has a requirement for MyCare Premium add-on subscription and Hardware Maintenance Agreement for the certification, calibration and repair of twleve Coordinated Measuring Machines (CMM) and seven Leica Laser Portable Trackers and Probes in support of the Precision Measurment Center. Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence (HMI), Inc. is the the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the CMMs and Leica Portable Trackers and Probes. HMI does not use distributors or agents to supply Hardware Maintenance Agreements and are the only provider that can supply OEM support to calibrate and repair the instruments. For this reason, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Inc (Cage Code:1WUK4).
THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within seven (7) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
