The Government has a requirement for hotel room microwaves at Tyndall AFB, FL. The Governemnt is searching for Buy-American Act (BAA) compliant microwaves that meet the requirments. The sepeicfications provided a 0.7 ft. Danby countertop microwave (MFM-7D1) as an example. The Government has been unable to find a BAA compliant microwave. The Construction Contractor has proposed dimensions approximately 17.31"W x 13.06"D x 19"H, Danby Microwave, DBMW00721BBB, sold by HD Supply.This request is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list. It is for information only and is not a request for proposal (RFP) or announcement of a solicitation. The purpose of this notice is to understand the market for alternative suppliers of the items described above. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all information received by the date indicated in this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to grant an exception to BAA requiremetns based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Directorate of Contracting, is conducting a market survey to identify alternate sources.Respondent firms shall provide:
1. Manufacturer's name and Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) if applicable.2. Product data and written statement of the ability of firm-s alternative product to be used in place of the referenced product above for the equipment specified.3.The written statement of compliance shall include necessary backup design information and supporting documentation. A list of projects in which the manufacturer has met similar requirements for similar applications shall be provided. The list shall include the exact location of project(s) and a point of contact with phone numbers.
