The City Of Atlanta's Department Of Procurement ("dop") On Behalf Of The Atlanta Department Of Watershed Management ("dwm"), Is Seeking Qualified Contractors To Transform A Vacant, Overgrown Eyesore Into A Thriving Ecosystem That Will Serve As Both Critical Infrastructure And An Attractive Natural Community Amenity, Connecting To The Surrounding Neighborhood And Eventually To The Westside Beltline. The Project Is Designed To Capture Storm-water From A 150-acre Drainage Basin And Divert It Out Of The Combined Sewer System, Providing Significant Combined Sewer Capacity Relief That Will Reduce Flooding And Sewer Overflows In The English Avenue And Bankhead/westin Heights Neighborhoods. The Constructed Wetland Vegetation Will Remove Pollutants, Improving Water Quality In Downstream Proctor Creek, And The Site Will Serve As A New Community Green Space With Walking Paths, Overlooks And Signage.
