Opportunities-DescriptionDuring construction of the hospital, fall protection on the roof was not installed in all needed areas and therefore has left portions of the buildings on the VASNHS campus deficient. The omission of compliant fall protection devices in specific fall hazard areas causes increased danger to employees and contractors. The lack of fall protection violates OSHA standards. The purpose of this project is to augment existing fall protection devices by adding additional devices where such danger exists, and none have been previously provided. The intent is to make fall protection safeguards available to persons working or otherwise occupying the specified areas where such dangers exist. The Fall Protection System is to provide ease of access for maintenance not limited to the HVAC equipment, roof drains, PV inverters, skylights, windows, and unprotected access thru roof access ladders and hatches except where such features are accessible by ground based mobile lifts.
