THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.
The Government hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order for installation of a new clean agent system and the demolition of the existing system at USCG Potato Point and Hinchenbrook in Sector Field Office, Valdez Area of Responsibility, Alaska. The vendor will be YUKON FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES, INC., 5451 Laona Drive, Anchorage, AK 99518-1087, UEI: JAWTGX9MCDJ6
This action is being awarded on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source and no other type of services will satisfy agency requirements. The vendor has conducted multiple repairs to the outgoing system. This repair work has provided them with first-hand knowledge of the location, electrical configuration, and the location-s challenges. The vendor designed a replacement system that will successfully interface with this location-s unique challenges. The vendor owns these designs, therefore no other vendor would be authorized to complete the installation without purchasing the design. Having another vendor complete a separate design would duplicate costs that would not likely be overcome by competition. USCG Base Kodiak, Kodiak AK 99615, will be the procuring entity for this effort. The Government intends to acquire commercial items and services using the provisions, clauses, and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 561621.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 18 Sep 2025, at 8:00 a.m., Alaska time.
