Description:
In response to recovery efforts after hurricanes María and Irma, and earthquake events, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development of the United States (HUD) assigned funds to the Government of Puerto Rico under the Block subsidy program for community development for disaster recovery (CDBG-DR or CDBG-DR) and the block subsidy program for community development for mitigation (CDBG-MIT) with the purpose of attending Recovery caused by long -term disasters. The Puerto Rico Housing Department (Housing) was appointed by the Government of Puerto Rico as administrator of this allocation. These funds will be used in activities that increase disaster resilience and reduce or eliminate long -term risk of loss of lives, injuries, damage and losses of property, and suffering and difficulties, by decreasing the impact of future disasters.
