NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE
THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. A DETERMINATION NOT TO COMPETE THE PROPOSEDPROCUREMENT BASED UPON RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE IS SOLELY WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT.
The Department of Energy (DOE), Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), Desert Southwest (DSW) Region, hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole-source, firm fixed price purchase order to “ProFab Mobile Welding LLC” to procure fabricated fuse ends for replacements within the Flagstaff and Pinnacle Peak Substation General Electric (GE) series capacitor banks. This requirement is highly specialized and critical to the operational integrity of these substations.
It is to the best of WAPA DSW’s knowledge, based on market research conducted, ProFab Mobile Welding LLC is the only known source that can provide the fabricated fuse ends that are critical to ensure continued reliable operation. ProFab Mobile Welding LLC’s fabricated fuse ends have been unequivocally identified as suitable spare units. Their proprietary design and manufacturing processes ensure the necessary precision, capacitance, and structural compatibility to maintain the optimal and safe performance of the GE series capacitor banks at both Flagstaff and Pinnacle Peak Substation.
