The U.S. Army intends to award a Sole Source Contract to United Elevator Company of Richmond, Virginia under FAR Part 6.302-1 --Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. United Elevator currently performs servicing and maintenance on the elevators at Ft. Meade under contract W91QV122C0047 as well as minor repairs as needed. Upon recent inspection, it was determined that (2) elevators require extensive repairs to the controllors. The repairs of these two elevators requires ongoing preventative maintenance for the foreseeable future which is covered under the exisiting contract. Contracting with another party for the maintenance of the 2 elevators would be duplicative in terms of cost. - Documents:
