NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCEDepartment of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 2 (NCO 2) hereby gives notice of the Government s intent to sole source a purchase order for a GridION Mk1 Sequencing device, through Nanopore Technologies, for the James J. Peters VAMC, 130 West Kingsbridge Road, Bronx NY 10468.The SeqCURES Research lab at the James J. Peters VAMC is requesting a GridION Mk1 Sequencing device which uses flow cells that contain an array of tiny holes- nanopores- embedded in an electro-resistant membrane. This equipment will brin Next Generation Sequencing of DNA, RNA, and base modifications. This is an important instrument to sequence clinical samples, viral genomes and integration studies, infectious diseases such COVID and TB, metagenomics, translational research.It is the Government s belief that the proposed candidate is the only one that can provide James J. Peters GridION Mk1 Sequencing device that is needed. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing).
