    NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) All Hazards Transmitter System Maintenance Services and Broadcast Tower Space- Wisconsin
    This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 5.101 requiring dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract, and is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals. The statutory authority for this sole source procurement is prescribed by FAR 13.501(a).
    The US Department of Commerce (DOC), National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration (NOAA), Western Acquisition Division (WAD), intends to award a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed-Price type contract with a twelve (12) month base period and four (4) 12-month option periods to the Wisconsin Educational Communications Board (ECB) using the procedures in FAR Part 13 for maintenance services critical to the operational needs of the National Weather Service-s (NWS) National Weather Radio (NWR) All-Hazard Radio.
    The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811210 with a business size standard of $34 million.
    NOAA-s Weather Radio NWR All- Hazards network is one of the primary means that the NWS disseminates its weather forecasts and severe weather warnings. In Wisconsin, NWR transmitters are located primarily on ECB broadcast sites, including other public and private broadcast towers. The broadcast towers are housed at strategic geographic locations to allow the NWS to maximize its network of NWR broadcast coverage throughout a large portion of the state of Wisconsin. The Broadcast towers are mostly located in remote areas and provide an advantage for both above mean sea level and telecommunication line of sight perspectives.
