- Intent to Sole Source - Non-Personal Services for Calibration/Repair/Maintenance and Purchase of Sea-Bird Electronic (SBE) Instruments
***The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC), intends to award, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Sea-Bird Electronics to procure the following:
Purchase qty. (60) SBE56 temperature sensors
Repair and calibrate qty. (43) SBE56 temperature sensors
Supply: Previous sensors were purchased from Seabird Electronics and replacement sensors are needed. To ensure data and operations continuity and integrity, it is imperative that the sensors are identical for redeployment in field operations.
Service: Previous and current sensors were purchased from Seabird Electronics. Per the manufacturer guidelines, only SBE can repair and calibrate their equipment. This will ensure data and operations continuity and integrity and it is imperative that these identical sensors are repaired and calibrated for redeployment in field operations.
***The sole source determination is based on Sea-Bird Electronics capability to meet the above requirements.

The applicable Size Standard is North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 334516, with a Small Business size standard of 1,000 employees. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $250,000.00 Total.
