- The Invest inChildcare initiative is conducting a cross-country global study on childcare in10+ countries to understand to what extent childcare is currently available,affordable, of good quality and meeting the needs of families, and where theopportunities may be to expand access and improve systems. The objectives areto:· Generate comparable data on childcare across countries toincrease the understanding of the childcare sector globally and potential forgrowth.· Inform dialogue, policy reforms and investments in childcare,globally and in specific countries.· Increase the number of countries with return on investment (ROI)estimates for increasing women-s employment through childcare services. The study will be carried out through amixed-methods approach, in nationally representative samples (or at the State/Province level for countriesthat are doing sub-national studies), comprising of four core components: (i)demand-side assessment; (ii) supply-side assessment; (iii) enabling environmentreview; and (iv), in a sub-set of countries, assessment of potential forprivate sector finance.
