Description : Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, tools, parts, materials, supplies, traffic control, travel, and incidentals necessary to provide an Iron Worker Pre-Apprenticeship Certification Program to Caltrans. Contractor shall provide an Iron Worker Pre-Apprenticeship Certification Program, which shall consist of two (2) sessions with ten (10) participants per session, in combination with classroom instruction and lab. Training courses will increase employment opportunities for women, minorities, and other disadvantaged individuals and deliver immediate skills to apply in the Iron Worker construction trade.The Iron Worker Pre-Apprenticeship Certification Program will provide training and resources to improve job readiness skills, including, but not limited to, knowledge of trade-specific functions and/or requirements, acquisition of relevant industry certifications, and development of basic occupational skills.The primary purpose of the OJT/SS Iron Worker Pre-Apprenticeship Certification Program is to increase training and participation opportunities for woman, minorities, and disadvantaged individuals in skilled and semi-skilled crafts relating to highway construction rates. The Program will provide high-quality and immediately applicable workforce training, opening doors to employment and education with expanded career growth and longevity in the highway construction trades industry.
