- The City of Homestead is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to provide shopping cart retrieval and disposal services within city limits and rights-of-way. The selected contractor will be responsible for performing weekly retrieval and disposal services in compliance with Chapter 17, Section 17-26 (f) of the City of Homestead Code of Ordinances. The Citys intent is to award a contract for a one-year term with the option of two 1-year extensions.The scope of work includes responding to reports of abandoned shopping carts found on city-owned properties, rights-of-way, and other locations as authorized by the City. The contractor must ensure the prompt and proper retrieval and return of the carts in accordance with city regulations and guidelines.Key Details:Service Frequency: Weekly (minimum 200 carts per month)Location Scope: City properties, rights-of-way, and additional authorized sitesCompliance Requirement: Homestead Code of Ordinances, Chapter 17, Sec. 17-26 (f)Purpose: Maintain public spaces by reducing clutter and safety hazards caused by abandoned shopping cartsQualified vendors are invited to submit proposals demonstrating experience in similar services, ability to meet the outlined requirements, and a clear understanding of the applicable ordinance provisions.
