Description:
The Lake Sumter Landing Shoreline Revetment Project aims to enhance shoreline stability and protect valuable District assets through the installation of a new rip-rap revetment system. The work involves processing, sizing, and transporting District-furnished limestone material from an off-site stockpile, followed by the placement of geotextile fabric, bedding stone, and rip-rap along the shoreline in accordance with FDOT standards and the approved engineering plans. This project is essential for mitigating erosion, improving long-term shoreline performance, and maintaining the safety and aesthetics of this highly visible community area.Contractors will be responsible for preparing the raw material, ensuring proper installation, maintaining public safety, and coordinating access and logistics across multiple active sites. The scope also includes landscape protection, potential restoration, and strict adherence to safety, site cleanliness, and Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) requirements. With an expected schedule of 240 days to substantial completion and 300 days to final completion, this project presents an opportunity for qualified firms to demonstrate their expertise in heavy civil construction, shoreline stabilization, and efficient project management.Vendors with experience in similar large-scale rip-rap or erosion control projects will find this solicitation well suited to their capabilities.
