The ADCP device would collect data such as water velocity, depth, and ice thickness to better understand the water flow under frozen rivers. The ADCP device would consist of a gravity-based anchor, the ADCP unit with associated bottom mounting mooring platform, and an attached R500 Acoustic Release for retrieval.
