- As a result of the pending reassessment being conducted by Lackawanna County, the City of Scranton anticipates a significant volume of assessment appeals. Lackawanna County is convening five ad hoc assessment appeals boards to hear such appeals between approximately August 2025 and October 31, 2025.The City of Scranton, as a taxing body, may wish to have its interests represented by legal counsel at many such hearings. Given the expected surge of appeals, the City-s Law Department wishes to maintain an adequate capacity of qualified attorneys to meet the need.The City is hereby making an open call to all firms and attorneys interested in providing assessment appeals legal services to the City of Scranton. The City may elect to retain one or more qualified attorneys and/or firms depending on its need.
