This is a public notice prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 - Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions.
The Library of Congress, Contracts and Grants Directorate, intends to award a sole-source firm fixed price contract to: Bruker Scientific, LLC. 40 MANNING RD, BILLERICA, MA, 01821, USA. The original manufacturer (Bruker Scientific) is the only firm authorized to provide warranty services for the Bruker Portable Raman instrument.
The work to be performed under the contract will be performed at the following location:
LOC Preservation Research and Testing Division101 Independence Ave, SEMadison Building - Room LM-SB27Washington, DC 20540-4560
The period of performance of the intended contract shall run as follows: 7/2/2025 - 7/1/2030. It is valued at an amount below the simplified acquisition threshold (defined as $250,000 and below), but above $25,000 (the public notice threshold). The work shall consist of the following: Contractor support to continue an extended warranty service agreement that covers one maintenance visit annually, all repairs and problems, and includes help desk support. This service agreement shall include a yearly inspection of the masking system motors, tracks, screen, and masking fabric panels, as well as cleaning of the masking fabric panels and tracks of dust. Minor spot cleaning of fabric panels shall be performed as necessary.
This announcement constitutes the only public notice, proposals are not being requested from other parties and a written solicitation will not be issued. This public notice accomplishes the following:
Notice of the LC-s intent to sole source this requirement to the business listed herein; Synopsizing the requirements in accordance with the FAR; and Publicly posting the approved Justification and Approval (J&A) to the public in advance of the contract award rather than after award.
