This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with Novogene Corporation Inc to procure ongoing Life Science Service/NGS Sequencing Services for the investigation of the regulation of the expression of salivary transcripts in Ixodes scapularis ticks by RNA-seq.

For this project, the Vector Biology Section is investigating the regulation of the expression of salivary transcripts in Ixodes scapularis ticks by RNA-seq. This requirement is to send samples for NGS Service, which includes sample receiving, RNA quality control and quantification, directional mRNA library preparation and quality control performance, sequencing using NovaSeq PE150 read size (larger fragments of DNA most likely will generate fewer false positive errors than smaller fragments when performing transcriptome assembly). We need quantification analysis of the data, which requires bioinformatics knowledge and computers with sufficient processing power to run these analyses. This study is a continuation of two other studies, one already conducted for this lab and one conducted for a collaborating lab by Novogene Corp, and the results of all studies must be comparing and analyzed upon completion.
