  Description(s):
  This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with FAR 13.105, utilizing the format in subpart 12.603, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
  
  The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for LIQUID HELIUM Services at the Gaithersburg Campus in Maryland. This acquisition is for a performance-based contract, solicited, evaluated, awarded, and administered using the Commercial Item procedures of FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13 (authorized under FAR 13.5), for management, supervision, labor, materials, equipment, and supplies. The contractor under the resulting contract will be responsible for the efficient, effective, economical, and satisfactory delivery of liquid helium, scheduled and unscheduled, and dewar rental services.
  The Government anticipates awarding a single Firm-Fixed Price contract with contract line items for recurring delivery services and dewar rental services, with emergency delivery service contract line items for additional delivery services. Additional delivery services may be ordered at the discretion of the Government.
