The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Natick Division, in support of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC), Soldier Protection Directorate (SPD), intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to Thermo Electron North America LLC located at 1400 Northpoint Pkwy Suite 10 West Palm Beach, FL, USA 33407-1976 under the authority as prescribed in FAR 13.106(b)(1). The Natick Soldier Combat Capabilities Developmental Command - Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC) requires maintenance services for the ICP-MS Spectrometer system. Thermo Electron North America LLC and its subsidiary Thermo Fisher Scientific is/are the sole providers of this equipment and the associated services. Changing the service provider would be unsuitable as Thermo Fisher Scientific is the sole provider of factory recommended replacement parts, proprietary software updates, proprietary factory-recommended upgrades, and factory authorized escalation services.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 811210 and the size standard is $34,000,000.00.
