This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested.
The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (CC) intends to award a Firm-Fixed price purchase order to Laboratory Corporation of America, Burlington, NC 27215 on a sole source basis to provide maintenance service for one (1) Vantera NMR Clinical Analyzer. The Department of Laboratory medicine utilizes the Vantera NMR Analyzer to perform lipoprotein particle quantification on samples from patients enrolled in NIH protocols.
Laboratory Corporation of America is the sole vendor of the Vantera NMR Analyzer, and is the only vendor that can provide this maintenance, as well as phone and on-site service for this analyzer. The Vantera is produced by Laboratory Corporation of America and other parts from related instruments cannot be interchanged. Laboratory Corporation of America engineers are fully trained to install and repair their own equipment, troubleshoot problems and optimize the system with their proprietary diagnostic tools.
