The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) anticipates issuance of a solicitation for the award of a firm-fixed-price construction contract for a project titled Repair Sewer Line at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) located in Chicago, IL.
MCC Chicago is a federal correctional facility located at 71 W. Van Buren Street, Chicago, IL 60605. The work to be performed in association with this project includes the following scope:
The Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) Chicago has a construction requirement for repairing a sewer line. The work includes replacing approximately 75 linear feet of existing 8" clay sewer line with 8" x 8" heavy cast iron pipe. The repair site is located in a secured, GSA-operated courtyard and requires precise utility locating, excavation to a depth of 6 feet, trench shoring, and protective barricades. All pavers and landscaping materials will be removed and restored to original condition upon completion. Work must be performed with minimal downtime; MCC will coordinate institutional water shutdown and restoration. The sewer system must be tested and backfilled upon successful completion. All work must comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Drawings will be provided to show the layout of the work area.
