IntroductionThis is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested.PurposeThe National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate a firm-fixed priced purchase order on a sole source basis with Mitutoyo America Corporation (UEI: DWD6M3KJUGB7) located at 965 Corporate Boulevard, Aurora, Illinois 60502. The purchase order will be for acquisition of Metrology Software for a Mitutoyo Kogame Coordinate Measuring Machine. The NIST Engineering Laboratory owns and operates a Mitutoyo Kogame Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) in the Digital Twin Laboratory (DTL). As part of normal operation of the CMM, NIST uses two main softwares called MCOSMOS and MiCAT Planner which are proprietary to the original equipment manufacturer, Mituotyo Corporation. The CMM itself is also proprietary to this contractor.

The CMM owned by NIST uses dated software (MCOSMOS Version 4 and MiCAT Planner Versions 1.0
