This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested, and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is 12405B23Q0592 and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The NAICS code is 334516 - Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. This solicitation document incorporates those provision and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2023-05

The Auxillary Process Module (APM, Product Number L30Z, $7675, Photo 2) sold exclusively by Microfuidics Corporation, a subsidiary of Idex Corporation, is a specially designed, z-configured, 300µm, ceramic-lined, stainless steel chamber which serves to premix biomass streams flowing at 30000 psi and at a rate of 110 mL per minute as part of a Microfluidizer (M-110P, Photo 1), a particle size reducing apparatus.
The APM is positioned in-line, upstream from a diamond-lined interaction chamber (DXIC, Product Number L10Z, $7675.00, photo 2) where the particle size is further reduced to 150 µm. The DXIC is sold exclusively by Microfuidics Corporation and is similarly z-configured as the APM with an outer stainless-steel housing. Acting in tandem and after multiple passes of biomass, these two chambers are central to the production of nanocellulose fibers. The two photos below of the M-110P microfluidizer and processing line show the APM and the DXIC chambers in a typical setup.
