The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing a Mid-infrared optical spectrum analyzer. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516.
BACKGROUND
The Microsystems and Nanotechnology Division advances nanofabrication technologies and uses them to develop innovative integrated measurement microsystems. This optical spectrum analyzer allows for measurements of the spectral character and wavelength of mid-infrared laser beams. It will be used to measure the bandwidth of mid-infrared optical frequency combs to advance measurement science and provide for high-speed measurements of chemical processes and dynamics.
General Requirements:
The Contractor shall provide the following Mid-infrared optical spectrum analyzer that meets the following minimum specifications:
The system must run off 120 V power (i.e., standard USA power). The system must be able to measure wavelengths from 2200 nm to 4000 nm. Any required frequency reference must be included. The wavelength accuracy must be better than 3 ppm. The spectral resolution must be better than 8 GHz The system must accept a free-space beam. The minimum needed input power level must be less than 1 mW. The system should be compatible with CW and pulsed sources. The system must display the spectral character of an inputted light source.
NIST is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing a solution that will achieve the objectives described above.
