Tender are invited for The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has issued a draft Mineral Closing Order, MO 1328, for public review and comment. This MO will close certain lands to mineral entry along the James Dalton Highway from the E. L. Patton Bridge to the Deadhorse Airport, the Coldfoot Maintenance Station and Airport, as well as other associated, nearby maintenance and transportation infrastructure facilities. The total amount of land affected by this order will be approximately 14,862 acres, more specifically described in the documents attached below. Under AS 38.05.185 and AS 38.05.300, the Department of Natural Resources may close lands to mineral entry where current and proposed land uses are determined to be incompatible with mining activity. Once approved, this mineral order would close state-owned lands and is intended to close state-selected lands currently withdrawn under Public Land Order 5150 upon conveyance to the state. Your written comments are encouraged during this public comment period.
