Special NoticePage 4 of 4Page 4 of 4Page 1 of 4Page 1 of 2PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCEIn accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b) / 8.405-6(a)(2), this Notice of Intent is to inform all parties the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Regional Procurement Office West (RPOW), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 21 intends to award a sole source procurement for the following requirement to the large business manufacturer, Olympus America Inc., located at 3500 Corporate Pkwy, Center Valley, PA 18034.The VA Southern Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS), at 6900 North Pecos Road, North Las Vegas, Nevada 89086 has a requirement for a lease of equipment and equipment maintenance and repair services. The ENT equipment will be used for veterans who are beneficiaries of VASNHCS that need thoracic and endobronchial surgeries.The scope of work includes leasing ENT equipment and providing maintenance/repair services for the equipment. The equipment will be used for patients who are cardiothoracic cases and beneficiaries of VASNHCS. The items shall be completely new, and shall not be used, refurbished, or in any other form, including substitutions. The contractor shall not add or substitute any component(s) without prior approval from the Contracting Officer.Endoscopy equipment is also subject to maintenance, calibration, and compliance directives with safety standards. Using an unfamiliar machine may lead to inadvertent violations of these standards, potentially compromising patient safety and exposing the provider and VA to liability.VA s Gray Market Items terms and conditions apply pursuant to VAAR 852.212-71 Gray Market Items and VAAR 852.212-72 Gray Market and Counterfeit Items.
