THIS IS A MARKET SURVEY / SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY
The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command-New Jersey at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 is conducting a market survey / sources sought notice on behalf of the Project Manager Soldier Lethality (PM SL) for a new single caliber 6.8mm - 7mm X 63mm Medium Machine Gun (MMG). The weapon chambering can be in .270 Winchester, .280 Remington, 7mm Backcountry or similar cartridges. The weapon system should provide greater range and increased lethality capability while maintaining the relative size and weight configurations of the current M240 series medium machine gun (MMG). The weapon-s desired rate of fire is 550-650 rounds per minute (both suppressed and unsuppressed). The weapon should be capable of mounting on either ground tripod or vehicle platform mounts.
