Description:
Sarasota County is requesting quotes from bidders to install a new asphalt trail connecting Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Newtown Boulevard, as illustrated in Attachment 1 (marked in yellow).Trail Widening and Gradingi. The Contractor shall widen the existing 5-foot gravel and shell trail to a finished width of 8 feet. Existing material shall bereused for grading and contouring where feasible. Any excess material not suitable for reuse shall be relocated onsite as directedby the County.ii. The Contractor shall install 2 to 3 inches of crushed concrete sub-base on the entire trail.Asphalt Installationi. The Contractor shall furnish and install 1,600 linear feet of trail, 8 feet wide, using FDOT-approved Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).Asphalt thickness shall be 1.5 to 2 inches and compacted using a minimum 3-ton vibratory roller to achieve a smooth, uniformsurface. Trail ends shall be flared 16 feet wide, extending 12 feet from the sidewalk connections at each end.Site Cleanup and Disposali. The Contractor shall remove and properly dispose of all construction debris, trash, and excess materials at an approved offsitedisposal location. The site shall be left clean, graded, and free of obstructions upon project completion.The Contractor shall perform all work under this agreement and shall not subcontract any part thereof.
