Special NoticeSpecial NoticePage 3 of 3Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source   The Department of Veterans Affairs, James J. Peters (Bronx) VAMC, intends to award a Firm Fixed Price sole source contract to MEDTRONIC USA, INC. under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 8.002 to MEDTRONIC USA, INC., located at 6743 Southpoint Dr N, Jacksonville, FL 32216 for the NIM Vital System and accessories. This requirement is to purchase Medtronic NIM Vital System and accessories that is compatible with the existing system that the Surgical Dept, ENT section, currently owns and uses as a direct plug-and-play to ensure compatibility and instant access to avoid interruptions to the patient. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 339113 Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing. It has been determined that through initial Market Research, only 1 (one) responsible source can provide the required Medtronic NIM Vital System and accessories. The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price single award Delivery Order against MEDTRONIC USA, INC., 36F79722D0022. The statutory authority for this non-competitive acquisition is implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The notice is not a request for competitive quotes. Interested and capable sources who submit capabilities in support of this requirement are responsible for appropriately marking information if it s proprietary in nature. The Government shall not reimburse interested sources for any information provided.Due to the urgency of the need, this requirement will be sole sourced.  Any capabilities received in response to this notice shall be considered for future requirements. No requests for capability briefings or telephonic inquiries will be honored.
