The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price contract to BreakAway LTD located in Hunt Valley, MD 21031 on a sole source basis to perform a one-time service to improve the accessibility components to the hospital-s existing application Treasure Tour cross platform (iOS, web, Android).
The Clinical Center-s application, Treasure Tour, is a multi-platform (iOS, Android, PC, tablet) game that familiarizes pediatric patients and family members with the hospital. Improvements to the existing Treasure Tour application will add Spanish translation to the existing text and art and additional avatars in wheelchairs, with medically relevant appearances, culturally relevant clothing and head wear items and updated staff photos. BreakAway LTD is the exclusive author and developer of the Clinical Center-s Treasure Tour application. The related interface and all software code are proprietary to the author. BreakAway is the only known source capable of executing improvements to add the Spanish translation to the Treasure Tour application. Without these additions to the application, the effectiveness of this tool will decrease. Maximizing the impact of the Treasure Tour application is important to the mission of the Clinical Center efforts to recruit pediatric patients and raise the census of patients enrolled pediatric focused clinical trials.
