    Tender are invited for PUBLIC NOTICEDEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC FACILITIESNORTHERN REGIONSEASONAL VEHICLE WEIGHT RESTRICTIONSIssue Date: February 20, 2025This notice is to remind the public and the trucking industry that seasonal weight/loadrestrictions will be imposed soon by the Department on its highway system for all vehiclesover 10,000# GVW. These annual weight restrictions are utilized to reduce roadwaydamage caused by heavy vehicles traveling on highways weakened during spring break-upconditions. The weight restrictions are stated as a percentage of legal allowable weight andshall be applied to the maximum axle loading in accordance with 17 AAC 25.013(e).These annual restrictions are very dependent upon weather, local soil conditions, and frostdepth, but usually occur between mid to late-March and late June each year for InteriorAlaska. In 2025 we are seeing slightly warmer than normal ground temperatures which mayaffect the timing of restrictions.
