NOTICE OF INTENT: The Fort Hood Health Contracting Branch Medical Readiness Contracting Office-West (MRCO-West) MEDCOM, Fort Hood, Texas intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source contract to CEPHEID. 904, East Caribbean Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94089 for service of annual maintenance and calibration for the GeneXpert Covid Tester Systems for the Government-owned Genexpert Covid Tester Systems for the Department of Pathology, Microbiology Department at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital (GLWACH), Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, an other than small business , under authority of Title 41 U.S.C. §1901(e)(2) as implemented in FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii), sole source (including brand name) under the authority of the simplified procedures for certain commercial items. Market Research results indicate that there is only one (1) vendor who can fully satisfy this requirement. CEPHEID is the only vendor that can fully support the full service of annual maintenance and calibration for the GeneXpert Covid Tester Systems for the Government-owned Genexpert Covid Tester Systems.
