Tender are invited for Project # SFHWY00628The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is proposing to upgrade lighting systems along Egan Drive and part of Glacier Highway.The proposed plan is to replace current lights with new energy-efficient LED fixtures that offer better, more consistent lighting and use less power. To do this, crews are expected to work both high up on the light poles and at ground level to install and reconnect the new equipment. While this work is happening, the lane or shoulder next to each light pole may be temporarily closed to keep workers and drivers safe.What to expect during construction:• At least one lane in each direction is anticipated to stay open at all times along Egan Drive• Traffic may need to be redirected onto marked detour routes if closing on/off ramps, turn lanes, etc. becomes necessary• The center two-way lane and shoulders on Glacier Highway may be temporarily used to keep traffic moving• In some areas, flaggers may help direct traffic when space is tight• Lane closures will only happen during off-peak hours w...
