GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: The applicant has requested that DMLW authorize an easement departing north from the DaltonHighway near mile post 285. The proposed fiber optic cable will be ground laid travelling west southwest for approximately 90 miles to Anaktuvuk Pass approximately 49 miles of the total length crossDMLW managed lands. The route generally follows the North Slope Borough Community WinterAccess Trail.AUTHORIZED ACTIVITIES: The department has authorized issuance of a public utility easement for fiber optic cable installation, operation, survey, and maintenance on state-owned, DMLW-managed lands on the north slope.
