Tender are invited for Notice to Begin Engineering and Environmental Studies/Request for Public Comments FAST Area Surface Upgrades FFY 2026Project Number: NFHWY00914Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is proposing to upgrade multiple surfaces in Fairbanks and North Pole.The actions proposed under this project are: improve the following areas in Fairbanks: Taku Parking Lot Paths, Gaffney Road Sidewalk, Joyce Drive, Shannon Drive, Birch Hill Recreation Area Access Road, Old Airport Road, Ballaine Road - Skarland Trail Winter Access, and Summit Drive. The project will improve the following areas in North Pole: Cary Avenue, East 8th Avenue, and Andrea Drive. Project activities in these areas include the addition of surface course to existing gravel roads and paths, milling and paving of existing asphalt, crack and settlement repairs, pavement striping, vegetation clearing and grubbing, drainage improvements, signs and guardrail replacement, raising of powerline height, and placement of jersey barriers for Skarland Winter Trail access.The actions described ab...
