Tender are invited for Notice of Intent and Request for Public Comment Port Valdez - Frontal Valdez Arm Watershed State/Federal Project Number: NFHWY00950/0771001The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is soliciting comments on the proposed Port Valdez - Frontal Valdez Arm Watershed project. The project proposes to replace eight fish pass culverts located on Mineral Creek Loop and the Richardson Highway in Valdez, Alaska. Additional work includes installation of erosion control at culvert inlets and outlets (riprap), resurfacing of the roadway, drainage improvements, replacement of signs, and vegetation clearing.Material sources for the project are still being explored.Portions of the project are within the base floodplain of Port Valdez. Project work is limited to replacement of existing culverts and will include work in the base floodplain in the form of culvert replacement, riprap placement and erosion control around the selected culverts.
