- 502 CONS/PKBA intends to make a sole-source award to Hill's Pet Nutrition for Hill's Science Diet and Hill's Prescription Diet dog food. The dog food is to be delivered on a recurring basis throughout the length of the contract. Delivery of food must be made in full order of the dog food requested within seven (7) calendar days of receiving an order. The age of the food must be within three (3) months of the manufacture date which is noted on the product itself (printed on the bag/can, respectively); partial orders will not be accepted.
This requirement is for the sustainability of 750 to 1,000 military working dogs (MWD) at any given time. The Government is required to follow all policies stipulated in Army Regulation (AR) 40-905, Veterinary Health Services Chapter 5 para 5-5 of this regulation specifies that the U.S. Army Veterinary Service and the Director, of the MWD Veterinary Service shall determine the standard diet for the MWD Program. Hill's Science Diet has been identified as meeting all the dietary standards required.
This will be a five-year contracts with estimated quantities identified below:
