This is a Notice of Intent, NOT a request for proposal. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with Becton, Dickinson and Company, d.b.a. BD Biosciences (BD).
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has a requirement for the following:
Preventative Maintenance Service for multiple pieces of BD Bioscience scientific equipment. The maintenance service would include:
Two (2) Preventive Maintenance Inspections, including 2 PM kits Software revisions & Proprietary Software Updates Unlimited service visits by guaranteed OEM technicians Unlimited guaranteed OEM Replacement service parts, components, or modules necessary for repairs, excluding 3rd party items and consumables
Unlimited telephone support for instruments, reagents and applications 48 hour guaranteed response to request for emergency on-site service, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Service and parts must be compliant with Biosafety Level 2Place of Performance or Delivery:

The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 1901 (a) (1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements.
