NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE ORDER. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITVE PROPOSALS. The United States Department of the Interior (DOI), Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Pacific Region Office (PRO), intends to enter into a sole source Firm-Fixed Price order with Butler Machinery Co., SAM UEI: XPN6EN2CZ116, a Non-Indian Owned Business, for Repairs to a Caterpillar 950k Loader, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The only capable repair shop within 100 miles of zip code 56725 that can provide the tools, equipment, and level of quality required because the equipment repair is unique and/or highly specialized is Butler Machinery. Butler Machinery will provide repair and maintenance services to include: replacing the joysitck and misc preventive maintenance. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 811310 and the Business Size Standard is $12.5M. This is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source only. This is not a request for competitive quotes, solicitation announcement or an announcement for a forthcoming solicitation or RFQ, nor does it restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. No combined synopsis/solicitation, solicitation, or solicitation package is expected to be issued for this procurement at this time. No technical questions will be answered regarding this requirement. This notice does not constitute any commitment by the Government. The Government will not make an award based on any responses received to this notice. Responses will be used by the Government to help determine the appropriate acquisition strategy decision for this and any future requirements similar to this one.
