THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE 8 (a) CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.
PSC: R429 Support- Professional: Emergency Response / Disaster Planning / Preparedness Support
NAICS: 611430 - Professional and Management Development Training with a Section 8(a) with a corresponding set aside size standard of $15M applies. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is FAR 19.800(d), for acquisitions above the simplified acquisition threshold, the contracting officer shall consider 8(a) set-asides or sole source awards before considering small business set-asides.
Description
The Kentucky Army National Guard intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-5(b)(4) and FAR 19.8 to Kinetic Concepts, LLC. for Dental services. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A Justification and Approval (J&A) is not required for the for sole source contract under 8(a) authority in accordance with DFARS 206.303-1(a) and 219.808-1(a) states that J&As are not required for 8(a) sole source awards less than $100M. This requirement is valued at less than $100M and will be awarded on a sole source basis, to an 8(a) participant.
