THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.
The Government hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source firm fixed price award for laundry service for US Coast Guard Base Kodiak medical clinic, Kodiak. The vendor will be Quality Drycleaners and Laundry LLC. 116 Ole Johnson Ave, Kodiak, Alaska 99615, UEI: UL8NG78EYBK7. The period of performance will include one base year of services, performance would expire 31 Mar 2026.
This action is being awarded on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source and no other type of services will satisfy agency requirements. Currently, Quality Drycleaners and Laundry has all infrastructure and equipment in place to continue services without disruption. To use any other provider would require replacement of equipment and substantial infrastructure repairs to accommodate a new provider. These obstacles would cost more to resolve than any savings that could be realized using competition. The Island of Kodiak Alaska has only the one source to provide laundry service without shipping off island. The USCG will continue to conduct market research to identify new providers and other options to remove barriers to competition.
USCG Base Kodiak, Kodiak AK 99619 will be the procuring entity for this effort. Performance will be located at Kodiak, AK 99619. The Government intends to acquire commercial items and services using the provisions, clauses, and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 812320.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 16 May 2025, at 1:00 p.m., Alaska time.
