Description

This is a notice of intent, NOT a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will NOT be issued, and quotations will NOT be requested.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price contract to Integra Lifesciences Corporation of Princeton, New Jersey 08540 on a sole source basis to procure the following items:

This request is to procure two 23 KHZ CUSA Clarity handpieces. These hand pieces will be used by Neurosurgery to remove tumors from the brain and Oncology for liver surgeries. The Operating Room currently has one 23 KHZ CUSA handpiece. However, it is not enough to support multiple cases in a day or multiple rooms at the same time. This purchase request will support multiple cases in a day with no delay in surgery. The CUSA is an ultrasonic surgical aspirator system that is intended for the use in surgical procedures where fragmentation, emulsification and aspiration of soft and hard tissue is desirable.

The proposed vendor, Integra Lifesciences Corporation, is capable of supplying the items listed above.
