The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to The Lab Depot to provide metallized bags to store and transport dried blood spot quality assurance materials.
The Newborn Screening and Molecular Biology Branch has purchased metalized bags from The Lab Depot in the past. The METBAG and WINDOWBAG have been used for at least 15 years and provide superior protection for the millions of dried blood spots (DBS) produced and shipped to 700 laboratories worldwide each year. The bag protects DBS under all environmental shipping conditions and can tolerate extended storage at -20 CĀ° to -80 Ā°C. Required specifications for METBAG BIOHAZARD STAND UP POUCH: 1) size 7.5ā x 11.25ā x 4ā OD; 2) 5Ml PET/FOIL/LLDPE (PFP400); 3) Doyen style bottom gusset; 4) Printed biohazard symbol in orange and black. Required specifications for ALT WINDOWBAG: 1) size 5.875ā x 9ā x 3.5ā; 2) painted silver bag with clear window; 3) Printed biohazard symbol in orange and black. No other vendors provice comparable products in the size required.
This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
