Description
The purpose of the special notice to issue a notice of intent for a sole source award to MacVector Inc. for Software Licenses, Maintenance and Support. This acquisition will allow renewal of the MacVector licenses for maintenance and support of existing licenses and purchase of additional licenses, as needed, during the base and option periods of the contract. The objective of this acquisition is to allow the Health and Human Services (HHS), Operating Divisions (OD) to continue use of the existing MacVector licenses without a lapse in use of the license or access to maintenance and support of the software.
MacVector has become an integral part of the OpDivs research and analysis system which is critical for the continuation of ongoing research and analysis. Also, due to MacVector being proprietary software, renewal allows continued access to ongoing and previously developed analysis using MacVector software. Renewal of the MacVector software licenses is critical to the OpDivs being able to continue performing and using the data analysis information and reports created using MacVector, without a lapse in the software license.
