Description
The Commander Fleet Readiness Center (COMFRC) hereby gives notice of their intent to award a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order to Timken Gears & Services, Inc., Hueytown, AL on a sole source basis. In accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 8.405-6(a) (C), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) V-22 Prop Rotor Gearbox Repair (PRGB)
COMFRC requires on-site repairs of the commercial gearboxes, Model number PG 27PL2T, in the V-22 PRGB Test Stand, to include Engine/Mast torquer pinion and idler assembly replacement, including all gears and necessary bearings, alignment, and adjustments to bring the equipment to fully operational condition.
Timken Gears & Services is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the V-22 Prop Rotor Gear Box, and retains all the proprietary /technical data rights required in order to provide the necessary repair services.

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within three (3) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement without impacting the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
