  DESCRIPTION:
  The Indian Health Service (IHS), Rosebud Service Unit, intends to award a firm-fixed-price sole source contract to Northern X-Ray Company (NXC Imaging) for the urgent repair of a Canon Medical 32-slice CT Scanner (Serial Number: KDA1282149) located at the Rosebud IHS Hospital, Rosebud, South Dakota.
  This acquisition is being conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-2, Unusual and Compelling Urgency, as implemented by HHS acquisition regulations and policies. Due to the urgent nature of this requirement, the Government does not have time to compete this requirement.
  PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE:
  The purpose of this requirement is to restore the CT system to full operational status for clinical use. The CT scanner is essential for providing timely diagnostic imaging services, including emergency care, trauma evaluation, and critical diagnostic support for the patient population served by the Rosebud IHS Hospital.
  JUSTIFICATION FOR URGENCY:
  The CT scanner is currently non-operational, which significantly impairs the facility-s ability to provide critical diagnostic services. The lack of CT imaging capability poses a direct risk to patient health and safety by delaying diagnosis and treatment, particularly in emergency and life-threatening situations.
