SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: Nanoparticle Nebulizer
DESCRIPTION:
The United States Department of Commerce (DOC), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Acquisition Management Division (AMD) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, with Kanomax FMT, 4104 Hoffman Rd, White Bear Lake, MN 55110, for the purchase of a nanoparticle nebulizer to be utilized by NIST-s Material Measurement Laboratory, Chemical Sciences Division. The statutory authority for this acquisition is 41 USC 3304(a)(1); FAR 13.106-1(b).
Minimum Requirements:
Nanoparticle Nebulizer that minimizes interference from non-volatile particle precursors.
Quantity: 2
Technical Specifications Contains both particle generator and focused aerosol deposition system in one. Collection efficiency ≈ 100 % for particles as small as 5 nm Does not require particles to be charged for collection. Collection area much smaller than 1 mm. Utilize 120 VAC. Market research was performed in October 2024, including web searches, GSA Advantage searches, and Thomas Register searches to determine sources that could meet the Government-s requirements. This market research determined that Kanomax FMT is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the equipment that meets the required minimum specifications. No other manufacturer found could meet the output size distribution and produce particles from liquid.
