These impacts are part of a proposed project to mitigate rock and ice fall events at milepost (MP) 113.2 of the Seward Highway, which are an ongoing safety concern for DOT&PF and the traveling public. Chugach State Park is a popular recreational park under the jurisdiction of the Alaska Department of Natural Resources (ADNR) Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation and is a protected resource under Section 4(f) of the U.S. Department of Transportation Act of 1966.
